The concept is easy - 21 slides, 20 seconds per slide, NO WORDS after the title slide.
Run your own workshop with downloaded material below (scroll down).
Many tertiary students take the easy way out when presenting with a PowerPoint slide show:
* find a website that talks about your subject
* cut and paste blocks of words onto your slides
* read the words aloud as you read from the screen to your audience
* for extra credit, cut and paste pictures, graphs and diagrams the words refer to
Who would not take the easy option? Reading the texts and summarizing in your own words takes so long. Matching stimulus pictures to the subject matter is also tedious and time consuming.
But here is the problem. Students are getting by without:
* Researching the topic
* Understanding concepts and processes
* Committing facts and attitudes to memory
* learning how the facts knit together
* Learning and practising delivery techniques such as voice control, stress and intonation for emphasis, body language, eye contact and interactivity with the audience
Enliven your presentations and engage your audience with this great idea! Make it into a competition to give it more zip. Students will have so much fun while learning better speaking techniques.
Download my Workshop Module and example 21 X 20 PowerPoints by clicking the Download icons below. Remember that presenters are not allowed to see written notes at all, but I have included my notes in the PowerPoint so that you can see what I say for each slide.
Create a folder on your computer and call it "21X20 PowerPoint" then download all of the files below for a complete workshop set-up.

These three videos are definitely and clearly not my work but well worth showing in the opening stages of explanation of 21 X 20 PowerPoint to underline the time-controlled nature of a disciplined presentation.
