Worksheets for Shrek
I created these worksheets at IPGKDRI (Teacher Training Institute) in Malaysia to help trainee teachers (18-20 years old) learn English better through hearing large chunks of English in context. Feel free to download these files and modify the questions to suit the age and English proficiency of your students.
Students of English, try answering the questions from your own viewing and listening BEFORE looking at the answer sheets (!).
The following worksheets were designed for Intermediate users of English in mind. The numbers that precede each question indicate where on Windows Media Player to look for the scene to which the question relates. The numbers represent hours, minutes and seconds after the start of the movie as displayed on the WMP screen. "00:23:34" represents 23 minutes and 34 seconds into the movie. By sliding the on-screen cursor along to that number the scene can be displayed.
Please respect copyright laws in your country by using only genuine, purchased movies.
I have uploaded these worksheets as Word (.docx) files so that you can use them in-class on a projector, typing in sample answers while in dialogue with the class about the movie and the questions. If your students are hampered by their reading ability, you can read aloud the questions and discuss them orally. Save a master copy in case you want to use the file again but have already typed all over it with another class.
